Hello, appreneurs! This article is important and a “must read” if you want to gain tons of downloads for an app. But how do you do that?
Mobile app marketing plays a substantial part in a mobile app business. Many indie developers spend a lot of time on the production phase. That leads to time and motivation shortage when it comes to the marketing and promotion stages. Every developer has to bear in mind that the app marketing process is still hugely important after app production.
As soon as the importance of app promotion is taken into consideration, one question comes to mind – How do you do that? Really, how do you do that if you are an indie developer? Especially with almost zero marketing budget. It’s a well-known fact that an ad campaign for app promotion costs a lot of money. Therefore, growth hacking methods have to be implemented. The first thing that comes to mind is ASO, which stands for App Store Optimization. ASO is a process that provides organic traffic from the app store and makes an app more visible and attractive on the search. And of course, it costs no money at all when compared to ad campaign budgets.
Some interesting figures…
ASO can be considered in different ways by different people. I would like to point out what ASO is in my understanding. So, what does App Store Optimization include? In my view, the most important parts of ASO are those which can be changed through iTunes Connect dashboard. They are:
– icon and visible part of the title;
– keywords (both in title and in keyword field);
I listed the things that can be leveraged on the app launch and further through the A/B testing approach. It’s crucial to consider the ASO process as a strategy. It’s not a one-time activity.
Stay tuned and you will find out the ASO process in great detail on my blog.
